No-show and On-time Appointment Policy

We have developed this no-show and on-time appointment policy to best meet the needs of our patients.  We welcome your feedback and suggestions and will make updates to this policy as needed.

It is often very difficult to balance the demands of a busy practice as well as make ourselves available for patients scheduling needs. We scrutinize the daily patient schedule and do our best to maintain on on-time schedule.

At a busy podiatric practice like San Luis Podiatry Group it is often impossible to predict what a day will bring.  A sudden emergency such as a fracture, infection or hospital call throws our well-planned schedule off track.  On the rare occasion we have to cancel an appointment, we will call and explain and reschedule as soon as possible.

Communication is the key to helping maintain control of the office schedule. Unforeseen situations occur in all of our lives that put a planned doctor’s appointment on the back burner. If you know that you are not going to be able to make an appointment give a call in a timely manner. This will help other patients keep their scheduled appointment. It is very important when you call to schedule your appointment to leave your work phone number as well as a cell number with the office.  If we are running late on our days schedule we will make our best attempt to call you prior to your visit to let you know so that you don’t have to wait for an extended period of time in our office.

Late Arrivals

If you are running more than 30minutes late for your appointment call our office prior to your arrival. If we are able to accommodate you based on our patient scheduling we will happy to do so.  We will see patients by time of there visit so if you are late we will work you into the schedule based on the timing of other patients appointment time.  If there isn’t any flexibility in the day’s schedule, you may be asked to reschedule if the problem is not urgent.

No-Shows

If you must miss an appointment please call us as soon as you know you cannot make it.  Patients who habitually do not show and do not contact us take time away from other patients and will be asked to find another provider or may be charged a no-show charge of $25.00 for the missed appointment.

Work-Ins

If you have an urgent problem, we will likely work you into an already busy schedule.  In this situation, be aware that there may be a lengthy wait once you arrive at our office.  Usually we will see you within 30 minutes of your scheduled appointment time, but occasionally the wait may be longer.
